Community is a comedy show created by Dan Harmon and aired on NBC. The show revolves around a few friends who meet at a community college in Colorado. They have all come from very different walks of life and they share one thing in common: the same Spanish class. The friends quickly become close and form their own little community within the college. The main character within in the community is Jeff Winger, a suspended lawyer who can no longer practice after the State Bar says his certification is invalid. He has a very laid-back attitude and simply wants to get his degree so he can practice again, but he soon starts to learn some important life lessons in his little Spanish class community. Jeff Winger is a former lawyer who was suspended after the Bar Association found out that his bachelor’s degree was from a non accredited institution in the country of Columbia instead of Columbia University. Jeff attends Greendale community college as a deal he reached with the Bar Association in which he would not lose his bar. Jeff is played by actor Joel McHale.
Britta Perry is a twenty-something former dropout who tried a variety of different careers after school, none of which worked out. She is back in school to get her work life back together. Britta is played by Gillian Jacobs.
Abed Nadir is a pop culture enthusiast who wants to study film making. His father does not want Abed to go into a liberal arts career. Abed often makes comments that make the friend’s lives seem like a movie or sitcom. Abed is played by Danny Pudi.
Shirley Bennett is a middle-aged divorcee. She is a mother and a devout Christian. She often gossips with other members in the group. Shirley is played by Yvette Nicole Brown.
Annie Edison is a girl who lost her college scholarship due to an addiction with Adderall she had in high school. She is very straight-laced and always tries to get A’s and follow the rules. She also has a crush on Troy Barnes, who she went to high school with. Annie is played by Alison Brie.
Troy Barnes is a former high school star quarterback who plays for the lackluster Greendale Human Beings. He does not realize that Annie likes him. Troy is played by Donald Glover.
Pierce Hawthorne is an elderly tycoon who is clumsy and goofy. He attends Greendale community college as a means to seek popularity and friendship. Pierce is played by Chevy Chase.
Senor Ben Chang is the group’s nontraditional and unstable Spanish professor. Senor Ben Chang is played by Ken Jeong.
